📊 Law of Large Numbers: why more data = better decisions
In data science, there’s a key principle we often repeat: the more data you have, the closer your metrics get to reality.
This is the Law of Large Numbers. 🪙 Simple example:
- If you flip a coin a few times, you might see “weird” results (like 70% heads).
But if you flip it 10,000 times, the average gets much closer to the true 50%. 🔍 Why it matters?
- Because small samples mislead.
- An A/B test with 50 users can show a “winner” by pure chance.
- With 5,000 users, your conclusions are much more reliable.
💡 For beginners:
- Think of it like listening to opinions.
- If you only talk to 3 people, you can draw wrong conclusions.
- If you talk to 3,000, the picture is much truer.
